CB Black CB drum kit Reviews 4

I bought this drum kit from a local music shop for £260 as my first drum kit.

Well obviously it was really cheap which is what caught my attention, as a first drum kit it is amazingly good quality for money. There are a few things you have to do to get it to a good standard, chuck away all the skins cos they suck and replace them with higher quality (I chose Evans 2-ply). Chuck all the cymbals as they bend after a week of hard practice and replace them with whatever you can afford. By a newhi-hat stand and bass drum pedal and beater, put a pillow in the bass drum. Finally buy some Evans E-rings, they muffle the druma treat and make the kit about £200s worth better sounding. You gotta be prepared to spend a bit of money on it.

When I first got it I was really frustrated with how bad it sounded but after a little work you can improve it, however if you play on a really nice kit and then get home and have a go on yours you will notice the difference. The snare is also quite crappy which is annoying and you can't tune it right up cos it just loses it all to quickly.

Buy new hardware if you can, stands, pedals, hey even cosider getting a rack if you wanna stick with the kit for a few years.

A great first kit for beginnerslike I was, it has made me happy for a good year and a bit now. I am selling it and buying a new Tama kit so i hope someone else can enjoy it as much as I have.
